Energy Sources

"The extraction, conversion, and utilization of energy is the single largest component of air and water pollution, as well as emissions causing the change of our global climate"
Christine A. Ervin, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (Department of Energy)

Fossil Fuels

Fossil fuels are limited in quantity and are extremely harmful to the environment. Fossil fuels are consumable materials, such as oil, coal, and natural gas, which cannot be regenerated once used. An over dependence on these sources for energy is dangerous, as they are the main contributor to global warming and are quickly being exhausted.

Renewable Sources

Unlike fossil fuels, renewable sources of energy cannot be exhausted. The five most often used renewable sources are solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal, and biomass. So, as long as there is sunshine, a breeze, water, ground, and land to grow plants, these sources will never run out. Renewable sources can be domestically obtained and are significantly less damaging to the environment than non-renewable sources. Modern technologies make it possible to collect, retain, and use energy from renewable sources without harming the environment or contributing to the decline in fossil fuels.

The ALOeTERRA home is a full-functioning display of how renewable sources can be used as alternatives to dangerous fossil fuels.
